About KiteTasks

Why KiteTasks exists

Google Tasks is a simple, effective task manager — but there is no official Google Tasks Mac app or Google Tasks desktop app. Mac users are left with a small sidebar panel in Google Calendar or a browser tab. KiteTasks was built to solve that problem: a native macOS app that puts Google Tasks on desktop with features Google doesn't offer.

Built native, not wrapped

KiteTasks is not an Electron app or a web view wrapper. It is built as a true native macOS application, which means it launches instantly, uses minimal system resources, and integrates with macOS features like Notification Center, the menu bar, and system-wide keyboard shortcuts. It respects your system appearance settings and feels at home alongside other Mac apps.

Privacy as a principle

KiteTasks connects directly to Google's servers using OAuth 2.0 — the same authentication method Google's own apps use. Your tasks are never routed through or stored on third-party servers. There is no tracking, no analytics, and no telemetry built into the app. Your productivity data stays between your Mac and your Google account.

One-time purchase

KiteTasks is available on the Mac App Store for a one-time purchase of $9.99. There are no subscriptions, no recurring fees, and no in-app purchases. All future updates are included. The app requires macOS 14 Sonoma or later and runs on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.
